Where can I dispose of hazardous waste?

Do you know how to properly dispose of various items around your home or office? Electronic and hazardous waste disposal is easy!

They should be properly disposed of at a City of Clearwater or Pinellas County mobile collection event. Electronic and hazardous waste should not be burned or added to the landfills due to the highly toxic materials they contain.

If you are unable to attend a mobile collection event, Pinellas County Utilities has a separate collection site for electronic and hazardous waste at the Department of Solid Waste Operations Household Electronics & Chemical Collection Center (aka, HEC3) located at 2855 109th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL (off 28th Street North on the south side of the Waste-to-Energy facility). Phone (727) 464-7500, Their website is http://www.pinellascounty.org/utilities/swapshop.htm. The center is open the following hours:

  • Mon-Fri 6am-6pm
  • Sat 7am-5pm
